Game 1

The Shepherds struggled to get their bats going early in the game, but strong pitching from Philip Wall kept the Shepherds in the game while only letting up one earned run through six innings. Austin Caulk finally got the offense up and running with his third home run on the season coming in the 4th inning making the Shepherds take the lead 2-1. After the home run, the Shepherds could not be contained with putting up twelve runs for the first game. Sebastian Dunn led the Shepherds during game one with three runs, two hits, and an RBI.

Game 2

The second game started to look gloomy with the Pirates taking an early 2-0 lead after the 1st inning. Roy Washburn bounced back quickly though by not giving up another run through six innings. The Shepherds continued to have great pitching throughout the rest of the game by only letting up one more run in the 8th inning. Blake Bolgiano came into the game in the bottom of the 8th with two players on base and escaped the inning without giving up a run. Bolgiano continued his excellent pitching by closing the game in the 9th inning while only giving up one hit. The Shepherds took game two of a score of 4-3.
